Travel outfits: What to Wear in Italy

How can one not give enough thoughts on “what to wear in Italy”, when you know you are visiting a country which is known for its fashion. Even our over-dressed is under-dressed in Italy. You don’t breathe air in Italy, you breathe fashion in Italy. Okay, I think you get my point. So yes, just as any other fashion-nerd, I had my list of outfits ready before visiting Italy, mentally-tagged by days, and cities! Heyyy, don’t judge me, I know you do that too when you are traveling. So as I started my journey from Milan, moving through Rome, Venice and Florence, following are the outfits by each city:

City #1: What to Wear in italy: Milan

You have to go a mile extra while dressing up for Milan-one of THE fashion capitals. So for the first day, I went with this white lacy dress and the ankle boots, and took this picture-perfect picture posing in front of the beautiful Milan Cathedral.

For the second day, I was feeling rather more relaxed and casual, as making my way to street-shopping in Milan, so I slipped into this quirky graphic tee, which by the way seems to be an upcoming summer trend as I saw them in every store. So we better be hurrying up to buy some.

City #2: What to Wear in italy: Rome

Oh Rome!! This city has just too much to offer with its history. It simply blows my mind how you are walking on the city streets, and this beautiful colosseum pops in front of you out of nowhere. Okay, not shifting gears, as there is lot of walking and exploring history in Rome, it would be advisable to wear something extremely comfortable. Keeping this in mind, on the first day, I chose to wear an off-shoulder jersey t-shirt with jeans and the white sneakers. And on the second day, I went with a short checkered dress and again, the white sneakers.

City #3: What to Wear in italy: Venice

Venice, as beautiful as it looks in the picture! Again this city involved lot of walking and not just taking a gondola-ride, so I went little touristy with the dress-up game with a graphic crop-top and the camel-colored jumpsuit. Don’t miss the small boutiques as you walk those narrow Venice streets, they have some really good deals on bags and shoes.

City #4: What to Wear in italy: Florence

And Florence!! This city was like a hidden gem for me, so lively, so beautiful, yet so culturally preserved! I wore this elegant Zara dress, a turquoise bag (my current favorite bag) and the ankle boots to bring some neutrality to this vibrant city.
